Review of This Week’s Stock Picks

Although I flopped on my Marin Software buy, I did post twenty-two charts on StockTwits based on trend, price and volume analysis, most of which were winners. Of those, I was fortunate enough to buy Xerium Technologies (XRM) which turned out to be the best performing of the bunch. That more than made up for my MRIN mishap and demonstrates that doing the homework and studying price action pays better than playing analyst upgrades.

Here are my pick performances based on the date chosen compared with Friday’s closing prices:

  • XRM  +14.05%
  • ISSC  +6.38%
  • ALV  +5.82%
  • NMR  +5.16%
  • BEAT  +5.07%
  • SMFG  +4.63%
  • NEPT  +3.16%
  • ORI  +2.48%
  • PSUN  +2.22%
  • UVE  +1.79%
  • GRO  +1.72%
  • OPTR  +1.57%
  • RT  0
  • LMOS  -0.07%
  • LNC  -0.12%
  • CRFN  -0.24%
  • PLPM  -0.63%
  • BLC  -0.83%
  • CZZ  -1.13%
  • PNFP  -1.81%

A 2.59% average gain overall for the week. Two other picks – JACK and CCIX – did not trigger as buys on my criteria.

Of those in the red I still like setups for RT, CRFN if it breaks over the 50 DMA, and PLPM over 3.34 with volume.
